After 38 years of Coke Bottle Bottoms, I took the plunge and got the eyes ripped open and blasted out with a laser about five years ago. Seven minutes on the left; five minutes on the right; completely painless, healed overnight, and it's deadly accurate. I'm still checking in at about 20/15 after all that time. There is a side effect of having to tell everybody else how terrific you can see. Best things about it are: looking at trees from a distance and seeing every individual leaf; campfires; baseball games; movies; fireworks; and especially at the beach (for the cresting waves as well as the babes!).

After a year of putting up with my bragging about the "eagle eyes," my wife had her Lasik operation in 2002. The first thing she said to me when she peeked at me after her operation was "I married YOU???"
