Most elongated pennies are fairly common. Check the "Exonumia" category on eBay. Sometimes they are sold by the pound. They've been around since the late 1890s. There is a catatog of them written by Dow and another collector that was published over 20 years ago. It's 1200 pages. Not a typo... 1200 pages. About 10 years ago I sent for a trader list from a well known collector, guy called "Doug" Fairbanks. His list was 75 pages, both sides, single spaced.

Don't get me wrong. I like these things! Got a whole bunch from San Francisco. Jenny got real embarrassed each time I found a new penny rolling machine. I was like a litle kid begging for a penny.
