One of my favorite jokes involves a response to someone complaining about all the filth and violence on TV: "That small, rectangular, battery-operated thing that came with the TV is called a 'remote control.' Learn how to use it."
At IBM, as with many other companies, we have an internal email system (a Lotus Notes deployment) and there's a standard practice of appending "SLO:" to the title of the message, if all the information in the message is contained in the title. (Means "Subject Line Only" - we are very fond of three-letter acronyms.)
Similarly, I use the same title in my form letter warnings to indicate that if you've read it once, you don't have to read it again - but if you haven't read it yet, you might want to find out what's going on. The note won't change, unless Vic makes good on his end or if he pulls some other identifiable variation of his scams. And if that happens, the subject line will be changed.
Best,
WMD
