I just got a new (to me) Monarch of the Seas $1 chip in the mail. As I compared it with one I already had, I noticed it was different. I have attached a scan of each below.

I am sure some of you are already familiar with this variation, and others could hardly care less, but for those that are interested and not aware (as I was), I hope you enjoy the new found knowledge.

The chip on the left has a textured surface and does NOT have the "@" symbol at the 5:30 and 7:30 postitions.

The chip on the right has a smooth surface and does have the "@" symbol at the 5:30 and 7:30 positions next to the logo.

This is not identified as a variation in the 1st edition of "Cruise Ships and their Casino Chips" (Smith & Long).
