I was HOPING that you would have something to add. Great PC Mark. I haven't seen that angle before. Well, we have the "Club" sign up at least as late as '62. Maybe the 'other' Mark E. will have something to add, or possibly the other Fitz up north (another Nevada Club/Lodge Expert).
While we're at it.... The Nevada Bob graphic is a favorite of mine. Little did Lew Hymers know (way back when) when he designed it that the little thing would survive so long in so many different variations. I recently found an ULTRA cool piece of memorabilia. It's a metal stamp (picture below, size misleading - it's a little less than 2 1/2 inches square and HEAVY) with the same graphic (as on the matches). I don't have a clue about what it might have been used for. The image on the paper jackpot bags is different. However it IS used on a couple of the Nevada Club/Lodge calendar ashtrays. This particular stamp was found with a couple other items, one of which is dated 1947. Little "Bob" was born pretty early in the game since his creator (Hymers) died in early '53 (according to John Moore's great article in the CCGTCC Magazine - J/F/M 2004). I'd like to think that Lew actually did the metal work, but John doubts that. At any rate, it's a great piece, and we know that it is Lew's design.
I have a couple other stamps to share, but it will have to wait, as I am packing for the Vegas show .
