I HIGHLY suggest buying the "I-Go" whichyou can get from Radio Shack. TheI-Go system, is a universal power system which you can use with many laptops. It also comes with an adapter for a car lighter or dc power in planes. There is a kit that comes with the system with a bunch of different tips used for different notebook computer manufacterers. The real sweet thing is that she can use it for the next laptop she gets too no ,matter what the brand.

I bought mine in a similar situation when I had my Compaq and now am using it with my Gateway. As far as I'm concerned, it's definately the way to go.

They have an online site too so you can see the units.

BTW-they also make systems for cellphone car cords with different tips. Get a different phone and you just buy a new tip.
