meaning of their symbol
In Response To: Politically Hot Chips ()

I went to the last day it was open in Texas and asked for any handouts they were trashing this was one of them. Looking at the twin swan logo.

"The Great spirit has bestowed upon man the priceless gift of free will which each individual makes his own choice between “good” and “evil.” This is a fundamental teaching of many Indian tribes.

This symbol of the twin water-fowls is a representative of the Alabama-Coushatta Tribes. The center is the symbol of the egg, the seed, the cell: the “womb of creation.” The four diamond shaped symbols issuing from the mouth indicate the four elements: air, fire, water, and earth which make life possible. From the last one the spout emerges ( a brand new beginning). The “swastika” design symbolizes the four directions, the four seasons, the four phases of man ( all things appearing in multiples of four). This symbol also represents the twin manifestations, or the wise ones who were to come, as foretold in the many legends of the North, South, and Central American Indian cultures, and unite all people into one.

Another aspect of the “Twins” is the positive and negative element of polarities: day and night; sky and earth; life and death; man and woman; yin and yang; alpha and omega; the beginning and the end; etc., as necessary parts of the rhythm of the Cycle of Life as it is known throughout the whole of creation.

The seven feathers ( black points ) on either are symbols of the seven sacred fires and the seven ceremonial pipes. Seven times seven is forty-nine, at which time a man or woman is recognized, after having survived all tests and difficulties and proven through deeds the wisdom of his or her spiritual power. "
I hope you enjoy it.
