Re: How to identify Spoofs
In Response To: Re: How to identify Spoofs ()

Best advice is ignore them all!

But moving the pointer over the address is still fun. You will see something from a foreign country and may even see the word ebay in there, but it won't be from ebay.com which is the only place the real ebay sends from.

Some of these lead to hijacked servers on someone else system, so that can't be traced. Devious little minds. grin

As for canceled accounts we have probably all had bank or credit card accounts closed or canceled, via email, which are from places where we don't even have accounts. I still get one or two a week.

My all time favorite is the one saying my email account has been suspended, please login here and provide information (blah, blah, blah) But then I ask, if my account is suspended, how did I get the email? It's impossible!

Now about that oil investment in Rawanda... nevermind. grin

With over 20 email accounts, I get at least one of everything. My Yahoo account that I use for Fantasy Sports just got hit for the first time last week. Clean for over two years, and I got six emails last week. Buggars, I hate that.
