Here's a direct quote from one of this seller's auctions.
"...in actual 1960 photo of legendary entertainer and member of the Frank Sinatra Rat Pack, Sammy Davis, Jr. The photo depicts Sammy and his wife Loray at the Sands Hotel and Casino in 1958. Back in those days, Sammy was a top attractions in Vegas, but not welcome as a guest at the Sands or any other strip hotels. Instead, Blacks stayed at the Moulin Rouge -- the only hotel casino in Vegas that accomodated African Americans at that time. Today, Sammy, Frank and the Rat Pack are long gone, their hang-out, the Sands, was blown up to make way for the Venitian casino hotel, and the Moulin Rouge is just a memory. I've paid over $25 for a chip from the old Sands, and more than $50 for a vintage Moulin Rouge chip."
I found the reference to a 1960 photo being on a 1958 commemorative rather strange, but that's not the most disturbing part of his description. He is attempting to link the fantasy chip to the actual casinos{s} by adding on the info that he's paid for old chips from them.
While people bidding on these items may well not care that they came from a casino, any time anyone misleads the general public to sell such items reflects badly on our hobby, and that bothers me.
