We got money in the Building Fund, no? Forgive me if I'm stepping on anybody's toes, but has partnering with the Neon Museum ever been explored? I'd sure like it if we could save something like La Concha AND get a home for our chips...
from the LVRJ:
ON THE BOULEVARD: The effort to save the architecturally significant La Concha building from the wrecking ball is running into difficulty. While some locals have stepped forward to lend their support, word is the fundraising effort to move the building has slowed to a trickle. And that's a shame. It would make a grand entrance to the neon museum and might even fit in Dr. Lonnie Hammargren's eclectic backyard. ...

UPDATE!
I emailed the Neon musuem about membership and received this in reply. Really sounds pretty good to me as a possibility for us too! IMHO!
Hello Sheldon:
Our former director's name is Sandra Harris. She went on to take a job
at one of the Museums at UC Berkeley. If it was around 2 years ago, it
may have been Traci Cardoni that gave you a tour. Does that sound
familiar to you at all?
We have made many steps forward in the past year - the most important
project is to save the La Concha lobby. The wonderful lobby of the La
Concha has been bequeathed to us by the Doumani family to us to use as
our visitor center. We are currently raising the funds to have the La
Concha moved to the site of the Boneyards and reassembled. With a goal
of $600,000 - we are over halfway there, but still need to raise
$150,000 by February 14th - Valentine's Day.
