Another suggestion I'll offer is to go with a laptop. It occupies less space than a regular tower pc, monitor and keyboard. If you have a wireless network connection at home you can move around the house without being limited by the wires. Plus, you can take your laptop anywhere, when you travel, visit firends, etc. I have 2 desk pc's at home, and upgraded them to laptops. Dell is a good option when it comes to service.
