I haven't seen this new one work but the older ones did the same thing...Tear out old rail, old ties, put down new rail, new ties, and ballast train and track equipment behind to line it all up and re ballast. Some of them even had ballast cleaners that pulled up all the ballast and sifted out the debris and junk and then layed it back down.
The ones we have had on the Powder River Sub and Joint line usually got a mile and a quarter a day done...Amazing stuff!!
