I'm sure you all know that the words "Under God" were ADDED (my emphasis) to the Pledge of Allegiance in 1954. I was INSTRUCTED to say it the new way. Even at 8 years old I realized that I detested being INSTRUCTED BY AUTHORITY how I should relate to God. Can anyone disagree that that relationship for young people should be nurtured by the family and its chosen Religion; and for adults by one's own decisions, choices and conclusions - not by authority?
