"Chips are differnet in what I ship overseas. Lottery tickets I can replace if lost or stolen"
Yes. I should have added that the two reasons I buy postal insurance are either.
1. For a low value package, but maybe where the buyer has had problems with his mail in the past and wishes to pay me (at cost) to purchase it for reasons of tracking
(Incidentally - I think this equals "I agree on that if you have to have somebody sign for it, its doubtful it would come up missing")
2. For peace of mind both ends if the chips concerned are of value and I could not readily replace them.
ie If you buy a $500 chip from me Im going to pay for the insurance at my cost regardless
If you buy a $500 poker chip set from me it will be covered by business insurance
If you buy the latest $5 HR chip then its self insured
etc. etc.
Another point I didnt add was on the subject of 'non-delivery' (for whatever reason).
As you may know, for a 'box' for example going internationally, it is mandatory to mark with the senders name and address. The PO should check its on the customs form. You have to indicate whether you want non-delivered goods returned (at your expense)
I had one package returned twice (addressed to Canada, and I discussed this on the board at the time) because Id written my address on the box side and not top left corner (GEEZ). Neither time did I have to pay anything. Funny thing was it must have been 10 weeks by the time the buyer got his goods. He emailed me to thank me but never mentioned the delay at all I had emailed to keep him updated but my emails to him had bounced.
