I would agree with the others who responded to your request. If you have frequent need to look up chips with a value of $100 or more, you need to look at both resources. In my opinion, James' book has a better handle on the value of scarce chips and I would always check that before purchasing a better chip. The color photos are also very helpful with identification when there is some question regarding the text description in TCR. The Chip Rack lists more Nevada chips, particularly the no cash values and roulettes that some of us collect. TCR reference numbers are also often quoted in on-line auctions so you need to be able to decode those.
