Scott; The on-line communications director is an appointed position. It is not held by a "club officer".
The Club Constitution is also published on the club website and it says in part, the following;
ARTICLE FOUR
Section 1
The Club shall be governed by a President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, and a Membership Officer.
Section 2
A Board of Directors will be comprised of the five (5) Club officers.
Section 3
A) The President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary and Membership Officer will be elected for a two year term in each year ending in an odd number.
B) Nominations for officers shall be called for by written notification to all members in good standing not later than 180 days prior to the Club's next annual meeting in an election year. In order for a potential candidate to be declared an official nominee in any club election for office, the candidate must receive the equivalent of a nomination and a second in order to be listed on the official ballot as a valid candidate. To accomplish this requirement, a candidate must receive a minimum of two nominations.
C) Election ballots will be mailed to each member in good standing not later than 30 days prior to an election, and shall specify the procedure for casting ballots in advance of the annual meeting.
D) Newly elected officers shall be installed every two years at the Club's odd numbered annual meeting.
E) The officers shall serve until their successors have been duly installed.
F) Candidates for office shall be limited to all members in good standing of the Club.
(G)(i) In the event of a vacancy in any elected office, which vacancy occurs within the first year after installation of the officer, a special election shall be held to elect a successor to serve the remaining term of such officer. As soon as practicable after such vacancy occurs, the Board shall cause to be sent to each member in good standing, a call for nominations. Regardless of the manner of mailing, the call for nominations shall be sent within 30 days of the vacancy. The special election shall take place as soon as practicable after close of nominations, by mailing to all members in good standing.
(ii) In the event of a vacancy in any elected office, which vacancy occurs after the first year following installation of the officer, the President shall appoint a member in good standing to hold such office until the installation of the officer’s successor.
