The Day Care is by the hour and goes late.

There is a free shuttle between The Orleans and Gold Coast (walk across the street to the Palms) all day until midnight (roughly). Another free shuttle goes to Barbary Coast on the Strip. On the Strip there is a trolley service, very inexpensive.

Also consider South Coast. It will be the same as The Orleans for services and shuttles!

Only use currently knowledgable referals regarding the Excalibur! I hear from Casey (my son) that the unstairs events are now different, since MGM/Mirage takeover.
