I posted last night about the 1997 NFL "Chip Shot" Player chips. I got some emails about my post and I figured I would post more info on these chips and how I got interested in collecting them.

On June 20, 1997 during the 1997 Convention (the last one held at the Old Aladdin) a couple of guys came up to my table and handed me the 2 chips shown below.

These were samples of a series of chips that were going to be available for sale later in the year.

I took the chips but didn't think much about them. Probably 2 or 3 years later I came across a group of these chips at a coin show and remembered the two I had been given in 1997. The collector gene kicked in and I said - I wonder how many of these there are and can I get them ALL!!

With a little research I found out there were two different sets of these chip shots available. One set contain 200 different chips
with 3 different sets of edge marking - woow just like REAL chips. That was a total of 600 possible chips. The other set contained 250 different chips with 3 more sets of different edge marking - a total of 750 more chips. So there were 1350 different chips available.

Fast forward to 2005 - I bought groups and groups of these chips to try to complete this set.At first I needed almost every chip I picked up, but as time went on the scales reversed themselves and I was buying large groups of chips and only finding 4 or 5 that I needed. So as a by product of my quest for all 1350 chips I ended up with 100's and 100's of dups - sound familiar.

Now you can get a portion of my dups. Here is how it works - send me a list of players or teams that you are interested in collecting and I will see what I have for you.

Pricing would be as follows:
Chips 1 to 10 = $2.00 each delivered.
Chip 11 and up = $1.00 each
