Actually, Australia has a rather long fence, called a "Dog Fence' that strecthes for over a 1,000 miles to keep 'dingos' out of the sheep growing section of the country. It is maintained by the government who hire people to patrol sections of the fence to make sure that it is in good repair. I am in the process of reading a book about a reporter who drove the entire section of the fence and tells about the people who do the maintenance. Very entertaining!
