Today Iraqi citizens went to the polls as a single people to exercise one of the most basic rights afforded to a free people and one which many Americans take for granted.

Freedom always comes at such a great cost and thus today is both a historic and emotional day.

I am so very proud of all of our fine young men and woman who stand for liberty, compassion, and honor wherever they serve. May God bless them all.
