I had problems yesterday after downloading the latest Windows update.

Im using XP Pro SP2 and have until today been running Norton Internet Security (including NAV)

My Norton is a 2003 version with subscription updates. Latest Windows update contains firewall supplements that now conflict with Norton (its a known problem). The 2003 Norton does not allow me to run NAV without IS.

Its time my machine had a 'clean up' anyway so I plan to do a clean windows install in the a.m.
With the latest update I only really need NAV or an alternative.

Question is: Should I buy the just released 2006 NAV, or should I use McAfee, or anything different. Is anyone running XP Pro SP2 and if so what additional protection are you using?

Easier if you reply to this post rather than email as Ive shut the other machine down for now.
