Thank you for the great insight Tyrus! Can't wait to see you and all the great people we met at the 2005 convention again. This really is a great hobby..yes folks, I said hobby, I also have a collection of "junk"...but I love my junk! I can sit for hours just looking at my chips,wondering what the worn chips have seen (if only they could talk!) and loving the artwork on my HR chips. They may not mean alot to others, but they mean alot to ME! Darrell now stops at Indian casinos on the road and brings me back a $5 chip, knowing it will get him at least a kiss (usually more)...I love them all.
As far as the people in this club:
I have never found a better group of people then here! The 2005 convention was Darrell's and my first convention. We came hesitantly, but from the Palms' get-together (thanks Greg), people stood up in the middle of their dinners as we walked past to welcome us! When Darrell and I introduced ourselves to others - it was as if we were old friends from the get-go! As we were heading north on I-15 after the convention, Darrell looked over at me sadly and said, "I don't want to go home"...I agreed with him.
I don't look at this hobby to fund our retirement in Hawaii ( ), only to happily gaze at the chips in our collection, make midnight chip runs while in Vegas, and laugh with our new friends when we meet again!
