Hello Phyllis
I'd like to offer my input on this issue, as I think some would like to hear it.
The survey is the exact wording taken from a list of work I have performed that was submitted to the club.
I look at it from a standpoint of legality. To the best of my knowledge under Nevada law current chips are considered to be checks. Like any other check to modify or alter them while redeemable could be "forgery". However once they have been retired after the public notice grace period for redemption the rules change.
The proccess of putting glue on a chip for purpose of display woud be an "alteration". The removal of the glue is "unaltering".
My opinion is the reversal of any modification or damage that occurs after a chip has been retired is acceptable. Those who disaggree with this have that right as well as others have the right to do as they please with their personal property.
Old chips like old cars at some point are going to deteriorate. The question is, "Where should we draw the line for restoration?"
