How can you get pissed at snipers but not at shill bidders????
If you're fine wilth a shill bidder taking you up to your high bid, then how is that different with a snipe bid? Didn't you already put your highest bid in? What difference is it that the snipe bid for a higher amount went in 5 days or 5 seconds before then auction end?
BTW, I get ticked when I'm sniped too.
Here's anew scenario:
1) Opening bid for a "C" value chip is $0.99 You happily put the bid in for $5.00
2) nobody else bids on it until the last 10 minutes, where the shill bidder takes it up to $4.00. Nobody else besides the shill bidder was bidding on the auction.
3) you get the chip for $4.50.
4) had the shill bidder not been involved, you would have paid $0.99.
The idea of the top bid is that that is the MOST you are willing to pay. The bid price at the time you enter your bidd is the least you will pay. If (key word"if")you get the chip, it will be somewhere between the least amount and the maximum amount. Which would you prefer???
