Suppose you have a $25000 budget for a new car and the one you want is being auctioned with no reserve and the auctioneer has a shill in the back of the room jacking up prices. The car you want only had 2 bidders, you and the shill. Why would it not be getting screwed if he jacked you up another $5000?
