I guess I can only speak for how I bid, which is the way I outlined in my first response. As many chips as I've bought on eBay, I'm sure I've had some shills bid against me. But there's nothing I can do about it, either beforehand or afterward, so I just don't worry about it. Sometimes I overpay and sometimes I get a bargain. For me, it all evens out in the end.
