Looking for feed back on the possibility of a chip show in Mississippi. How many dealers would set up. Will collectors come. Loction of the show would be Vicksburg, MS in the convention center. Dates would be 24-26 March 2006 with set up on night of 23rd. The Mississippi Numismatic Assocation will have their 45th Annual State convention and Coin Show at this time, Have been offered space that could accomodate 20-25 tables, this space would be separate for the coin show. Looking at $100 table fee. Could be only two days for chip show if that what you want, possibly Fri and Sat or Sat and Sun. There will be a fund raiser and auction with donated items to benefit the Gulf Coast Business and Tourist Center that was wiped out by Katrina. Perhaps you could make donations to this auction or a monetary donation. The convention center in Vicksburg is near the Horizon Casino, other casions in Vicksburg are the Ameristar, Isle of Capri and Rainbow. Of interest to other family members are antebellum homes and the Civil War Park and old court house museum. Need input within the next few days to start plans to go forward with the chip show. Also would have the next meeting of the Deep South Chip Collectors Club at this time with date and time of meeting to follow later. The DSCCC neeting place at the Copa in Gulfport,MS was wiped out by Katrina and been unsble to find another casion to meets unless we are willing to pay $250 plus for a meeting room.
