Each week we are offered chips and most of the time we have to trun them down because they are not REAL casino chips. The first real problem we had in this field of collecting was the so called comm. chips issued by Mr. Bill Borland. Bill was a good friend of mind and we had many many trades when he was alive. The chips he issued were sold at a fair price when they came out. The bad part was on the secondary market. They would end up in yard sales, swap meets and so on. Now they were sold as real chips for $10 to $50 each. I know as I have seen them at the swap meets and there was no way you could tell the seller they were not real. As advertising manager at that time in the club I tried to stop his ad from being run in the club magazine and was over ruled. Many Many people paid the pice on the Borland chips and we as a club have fewer colectors today because of these chips. Any Fantasy chip issued with the city of Las Vegas on them will find their way into the wrong hands. They do more harm than good.
WHY NOT have the edges marked with "Home Set" or "Personal Chips" or best yet "Not a Casino Chip"
