I just told this story earlier tonight at a game. About a month ago in a no-limit hold'em game, I was in a two-handed pot with a 7-10 of spades. The flop commes 7-7-4. I check, the other player, who had raised pre-flop, bets. The dealer, inexplicably - and this is the only time I've ever seen this in my life - "kills" the flop and pushes him the pot!
This was in a home game and everyone in the room, including the dealer, was watching a horse race on TV that was the last leg of their Pick-6 bet (which they won). No one in the room even had any idea anything was wrong except me. I practically dove into the middle of the table to save the now turned down flop (and my trips). It came out all right as they re-set the flop and I won the guys stack. I guess he didn't consider my head-long dive into the middle of the table a tell. LOL. True story from very recently.
Another good one from years ago, this time with me dealing. A player folded on the turn and accidentally exposed his hand while throwing it in. I displayed it to the remaining three players as is customary and then killed it, or at least thought I did. Next thing I know, I burn and turn the river and it's a card from his exposed hand. Big time inquiry and I don't remember the ruling, except that one player quit the game. I'd been dealing about 30 hours without a break, if I remember right.
Another good one: I'm dealing again and burn and turn too quickly on the river before the final player acts - a common mistake. I re-mix the card into the stub, shuffle, and turn the exact same card off on the river! Sounds like quite a long shot, but really probably only about 25-to-1.
Great subject.
