I don't personally know this company at all. By perusing their website, it appears that IGS is mostly involved in grading/slabbing sports cards (a 19-point scale), and also offers coin grading/slabbing (only a 10-point scale, in contrast to slabbing industry leaders who use a 70-point!! scale).
I can only assume that, with slabbing equipment already on hand, it seemed to IGS that slabbing chips might be popular too. (WRONG!) They pitched their services to the club last year, without interest. Maybe they are testing the waters to see if there are any "crossover" coin or sports card collectors who might go for slabbed chips too.
One slabbing company already threw in the towel. Maybe IGS will do so also, when they see that there's no profitable market for slabbed chips.
