Mike, the soldier does defend these rights, with their lives, and they are to be admired for it. There are times (unfortunately) that politicians treat the lives of these fine people (male and female) with less regard, yet they still stand and do their duty. That deserves admiration as well. When a soldier dies for his/her country, it behooves all of us, to take a moment and thank God for that person, and to pray for their soul, and our country.
But (not to argue), it also takes the poet, the reporter, the protester, the lawyer, and even the worst parts of our society to battle for their rights as well.
Otherwise the soldier fought and died for nothing. And allowing that to occur would be the greatest sin.
