The Westward Ho has been given the heave ho. The countdown started about 4:30 today as barracades were placed along the sidewalk out front and the front doors chained shut.
Those lucky enough to be inside were able to watch the celebration of 40 years of gaming coming to an end. A long, long conga line of well wishers, old patrons, supporters and about anyone else who wanted to join in, started at the noeth bar and lead by several musicians in full garb wound their way throughout the casino as other patrons snapped pictures, said their goodby's, shed some tears, and thanks the workers for the years of enjoyment. The party was lead out the back door where the festivities continued in the parking lot thanks to several hundred revelers.
Another old favorite gobbled up by the condo craze. Goodby old friend! We'll remember the low priced breakfasts, the $1.49 hot dogs, 99 beers, and the friendly atmosphere. RIP
