I disagree. While the seller is honest I'm sure,after the chip changes hands a few times it will all but be forgotten that the cancellation was removed.
Someone will wind up with a chip that has been altered and not get what they expected.
I doubt you would want to be that person.

I see this no differently than any other chip that has been repaired to increase its value.
