BOY-O-BOY.... I just received Ed Hertel's 4th edition of ILLEGAL chips. There are some very dedicated people recording chip history for our enjoyment, people like Dale, Allan, James, Steve, Archie, Larry, Armin, Howdy and Ed. If you know all these last names, I think you are a serious chip collector.

"I had started making the update at the end of last year and then dropped the effort. I was urged on by a few people but still resisted. Finally, thinking there might be some utility in the work, I started cleaning up the book a little and decided to start printing. As a result, it might be rough in a few places.

Chipping has never been about the money for me. I enjoy the people and the history.

I want to thank Ed for his hard work and dedication to the chip collecting community. The chip guides are the glue that binds chip collectors together. Even when we are not together we can be on the same page.
