Read the contract with a fine eye. In most cases you will be accountable for all fees even if the item does not sell.
You may lose your item if not picked up by the contract final pick up day. Businesses do this so they don't have to sit on a bunch of stuff and they can donate it to charity.
I owned a consignment store for years and you would be surprised at how many never read a contract.
Make sure the business has sufficient insurance to cover any damage, theft or loss. Watch out for the lines that read :
We are not responsible for damage, loss or theft . I would run out the door if that is in the contract.
