I just got back from the $565 NLHE Tourney. They had about 1265 players, and had to turn ALOT of people away. My guess is that they will have almost the same amount for the 10K event.
They had new NCV chips this year. They look like Chipco's. Someone wasn't thinking when they thought up the design. The 25's are two shades of a bright green with black markings on the edge. The 100's are back with alot of one of the light shades of green. Thet are REAL difficult to tell apart. I was getting cross-eyed trying to sort them when I stacked pots. Most everybody was complaining about them. I have a 25 that I will scan later.
As for the tourney, I cashed, placing 79th. I was pretty disappointed becuase I had a 2X average stack at the dinner break then proceeded to go card dead for two hours, and the blinds and ante's chewed my stack up from 25K to 8K. The best hand I saw was A-9 o/s in first position (I folded it). Finally got bounced when my AK lost to the chip leaders 9-9. Oh well..........
