John, that was done intentionally by the Manufacturer in China at the request of a buyer in New York, NY that purchased 10,000 Sets
Of 300 & 500 complete with the cases, dice and buttons and he sold them off about 9 months ago before he got arrested for what was called “Copyright Infringement” by Harrah’s Las Vegas, Inc. (Which is Harrah’s Entertainment, Inc’s legal arm). Then when the World Series of Poker began – many people that had bought those sets started breaking them down and selling the chips individually on EBAY. Well Harrah’s at my request to a very close friends that is in a very “High Position” with Harrah’s – Las Vegas report to the legal department about them being sold on EBAY during the time frame that the “World Series of Poker” was going on and they made everyone removed their listing or EBAY removed them without notice and then refunded those sellers their listing fees. As of recent Harrah’s has chosen to allow the very few that still have any to just continue to sell them and are not worried about them any longer since they were selling their own “WSOP Merchandise” and did not want any competition or infringing. I hope this gives you a better insight to the way things really happened.
