I talked to a guy at a coin show who had slabbed chips. He said that he only paid about $5 per chip for slabbing and got them locally here in Tennessee. He seemed real proud of the service and I didn't have much luck disuading him from getting more chips slabbed. The main thing is to keep collectors from buying the slabbed chips.
