This happened in a home game last week. Playing draw poker with pot limit. I am dealt 3 of a kind and draw 2 cards and pick up a full house, 3's over 5's. Another player also drew 2 cards and bet the pot against me. I already had a lot of money in the pot and figured I was gonna lose to a higher full house. Wrong. The other player was dealt 3 aces and picked up the forth ace in the draw.
I kind of figure that a full house is about a 1 in a 1,000 hand in draw poker. I have never seen four of a kind in this game, except for the movies. How can you possible pull a 1 in a 1,000 hand when someone else pulls a once in a lifetime hand against you? My worse ever bad beat. Don't some of the poker rooms in Vegas offer a bad beat pot if you lose with a full house or better?
