but It wasn't just UP that had the great E's..They were an incredible locomotive...geared for a top of end of 110+ MPH.

At one time Chicago and Northwestern never had a speed limit between Chicago and Milwaukee..The E's ran there and really got to strut their stuff...

Then lots of times when E's were king the dispatcher just looked the other way as the guys made up the time, even with a speed limit. Not today, one MPH over and you are looking at discipline.
