The urban legend:

You remind me of the urban legend about the stolen car that is returned the next day with a note on the windshield. 'Sorry I had to take your car. Mine broke down and I had to get my wife to the hospital. As an apoloy I am encloseing two Super Bowl tickets.'

The car owner takes his wife to the Super Bowl, then comes home to find his house burglerized.

A true story:

A young lady I worked with many years ago was engaged. She and her fiance rented an apartment, bought furniture and moved in their belongings.

Both were strictly religious and continued to live with their respective parents until the wedding, then went on a two week honeymoon.

They returned from their honeymoon to find their apartment had been TOTALLY stripped.

Not only did they lose everything they possesed, the thieves took the range and fridge, the carpeting, and the light fixtures.

What a way to start a marriage.
