The year 1952, the place Fenway Park. My father had just returned from Korea decided it was time to go to a ball game, a father-son thing, to see his favorite team, THE RED SOX. Late in the game a tall player came to bat and the place went wild, when he blasted one in seats the fans went crazy, it seemed like for hours. The fans made him come out of the dugout to take a bow. Seems this player had also just returned from Korea and this was his first game and his first at bat, and was put in as a pinch hitter. I don't remember who won the game, and I don't think anyone cared. We had just seen TED WILLIAMS hit a home run
