I'm having a difficult time understanding just exactly what hurricane insurance does cover. I saw Terry's post concerning his hurricane insurance paying nothing on the losses sustained by his New Orleans clinic because the damages were caused by flood waters. It would seem to me that water damage would be part and parcel of any hurricane, and specifically covered under a hurricane policy. ...or does hurricane insurance only cover wind damage? If so, a separate rider for hurricane damage doesn't really make much sense, because there will be water and flood damage caused by every hurricane. ...just wondering.
