A few days ago there was a thread on chip varieties, apparently caused by broken coining dies on the coin inlay. Here is an example of a token variety also caused by damaged dies, in this case a crack. Note the radial line in the pic below. Janice O'Neal recognizes this as a separate catalog number in her lists, Harrahs, LV 1836. The token is also know without the die crack impression, catalog 1812.
I'd like to see chip varieties continue to be cataloged separately in TCR if possible as a number of us like to assemble complete series of chips including minor varieties. Whether they deserve a premium value is another discussion.
