Since you are asking....I'll just give you my opinion, for what it's worth.
For an item such as this, I surely would have had better photographs. Take digital pictures that show detail. I also happen to have this very same set, and know first hand that the wooden box is absolutely beautiful. I would have taken a better quality close-up of the box, as well as a better quality close-up of the chips. All of your pictures appear on the dark side.
Also, you have to be aware, that many of the chippers that surf eBay looking for chips, filter out auctions with the word "set" . I think your auction title could have been a bit better too.
You didn't even have a scan of the actual different chips that are included in the 500 chip set. This is one of the most important parts of what you're selling. They only appear in the dark scan that shows everything. You only even mention the 500 chips once. Did you mention they were CIC chips?? Did you mention how many colors?? Did you mention how many of each color??
The description was confusing because you mention it as:
LIMITED EDITION BINIONS HORSESHOE 500 CHIP SET IN BINIONS HORSESHOE WOODEN BOX!!!
and then you mention:
PALMS 100 AND 500 TOURNAMENT CHIPS (2004 6TH ANNUAL POKER TOURNAMENT)!
So are you meaning the set of horsheoe chips that come with the set are a group of $500 buy in chips? I'm just playing devil's advocate here. I of course knew exactly what the set was because I own a set. But, I think you get my point.
Did you mention if the set was new or used?? You could have taken a picture of the wooden box open, showing the inside, which also happens to be really nice quality. You could have also mentioned the solid brass hardware.
As for taking a big loss....you could have protected yourself by having a reserve on the auction.
I'll admit...somebody got a great deal. The set is really great, nd you included a ton of extras.
