Either Chipco was cancelling these or they were testing their equipment.
It seems to me that the costs associated to make transfer sheets and make a press run to cancel chips would be more than just smashing them with a hammer. Well, maybe a sledge hammer!
And although we see a fair amount of these, we (I) haven't really seen them in bulk (by the thousands), so I suspect that they might be pre-production test runs to ensure the equipment is operating at the right temperature and pressure.
But then again, I could be wrong.
Has anyone asked Chipco?
