I'd really like to argue the definition of token.
In the early days of this Republic, Merchant tokens were accepted as legal tender because there wasn't enough coinage yet minted. A token does not necessarily mean made of metal. It has a value in goods or services or $$$$. Just like a casino chip. Moreover chips were used as legal tender in the 60's in Las Vegas. You could exchange them for food or services anywhere. Again forgery of chips stopped this practice. If it looks like a duck... walks like a duck & quacks like a duck...gentlemen it's a freaking DUCK.
