I changed my post. It appears the Allegro hotel is still open, only the American Casino closed. I have no idea why. There are no casinos currently open on the island. According to a recent T&C publication:

Nightlife includes local bands playing traditional island music at bars and restaurants, some nightclubs and a soon-to-be-opened casino on Providenciales.
