I self insure every package I send. If the item (s) are more than $25.00 I buy $50.00 worth of insurance from USPS. It makes me breath a whole lot easier for everything I send out. It's a little added cost (not so little) but worth a lot of free breathing to know tht any reasonably large ticket item is insured.

I never ask the buyer to pay! Chris (wife) says I am nuts but it certainly has made me happier to not worry about it. I replace anything lost under $25.00 and insurance covers anything over $25.00 so I never worry about it! IMHO!
