Why is it an issue if someones re-uses (or takes) your scan?

Short and sweet of it.

I own the scanner and computer and the chip. I took the time to make the scan, edit it and save it to my web site.

The person who "borrows"/steals the scan, may not have the chip, so it opens the door to fraud. The person didn't ask to use my picture, that I worked to created and pay to host on the web.

As I mentioned in another post, even worse is when someone doesn't even bother to take the time to steal the picture, but links to my website as well.

Most people will be happy to share pictures. It's just nice to ask first.

I understand that I don't own the rights to the artwork, but I do own that particular chip and the image I made of it.

ps if you need to borrow a scan from me, just ask. In fact if you need a scan and don't have a chip, I'll look and see if I have it in my collection, so I can get a scan for you to use.
